Frequently asked questions
Can someone connect to my computer without me knowing?
No. Every connection needs your approval in the DeskLink security window, and a bar shows on your screen while anyone is connected. The only exception is your own devices on the same account, and only if you switch that on.
Do both computers need the app?
The computer that is shared needs DeskLink for Windows. The person connecting can use the app, Android, or just a web browser.
Does it work on mobile data?
Yes. When a direct path is blocked, DeskLink goes through an encrypted relay automatically. It has been tested on 4G with smooth picture and sound.
How do I stop a session straight away?
Press Esc three times on the shared computer, or press Stop in the session bar. Control ends at once.
What is the difference between a meeting and remote control?
A meeting is for camera, voice and chat. Nobody in a meeting sees your screen unless you share it, and control always needs its own approval.
Is DeskLink free?
Yes, DeskLink is free while it is in preview.
